Our brief for this project was to hang three 50 metre long shades over the mezzanine level at the national maritime museum in Greenwich.
Due to the fast track nature of the program Adverse Rigging had to lift the sails with irreplaceable historical artefacts already in place in their cabinets.
The 750kg shades, (manufactured by a specialist boat builder), were raised transferred and lowered using hydraulic winches and a movable ballast system weighing more than 7 tonnes.
